Also heard that Steve Lauder and Jimmy Taylor have been picked up. Well done to both.

i have heard a strong rumour that now because FMT's are apparently not being trained fully/reduced the courses, due to various reasons...training time scale, budget etc There is due to be another board sitting for an additional 35...Apparently, due to what ever the reasons may be, the way things are looking Cpls are going to be the new Controllers, being q'd in all the relevant things that the new FMT's are not, from trim clerk to c17 sup.

By my last count this will mean there will be upto if not over 80 SAC's to CPL in the last year alone ... with this years board to sit in a few months time. It also theoretically means that you will now have 4 year Cpls and the possibility of 7 year Sgts. Which considering a few years ago you were considered doing well to gain Cpl after 7 years has surely got to be slightly disconcerting to those who have gained promotion previous to this.

im not saying this is all confirmed, but from visiting various bases and talking to a few of the more sensible heads who tend to have their fingers on the pulse it seems pretty good gen to me.

Clearly you are a very ill informed individual! As you claim that you are about to be promoted you should give the Trade Sponsor a call on 95237 7123 to get the facts so you will be able to guide and advise your SACs in the future.
The SAC-Cpl promotion board which sits 23-27 Aug is the usual annual board (with a quota of 32). We have been averaging around 35-40 promotions per year for the last 4 years and this is likely to be the case again this year. Details can be found on the Manning web page.

it would appear that the people in higher positions than my lowely self miss informed me...

i was going to remove the post but i felt that doing so may of have actually caused the spread of of these obviously false rumours.

I would like to state however that i was told of this rumour by several individuals from different units. I hope that anyone reading this will see that the rumour is quashed.
